The population in Belarus reimburses 72% of the cost of electricity, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Standardization - Director of the Energy Efficiency Department Mikhail Malashenko told reporters today, BelTA.
"Now the population reimburses 72% of the cost of electricity and 17% of the cost of heat," - said Mikhail Malashenko.
According to him, the consumption of heat energy for heating for the population is constantly decreasing. "In 2010, more than 23.4 million Gcal was consumed, then this figure was about 22 million Gcal in 2015. The heat energy consumption per capita in 2010 was 2.3 Gcal, in 2010 - 2.5 Gcal. As the system of housing and communal services, and with the help of the population itself, because it began to save, "said Mikhail Malashenko.
He also said that about 75% of energy sources in the housing and communal services use wood and peat fuel, thereby replacing expensive natural gas.
